Newcastle

The Haunted Farmhouse

One of the farmhouses in the area had its own well inside the property. One particular witness reported seeing the apparition rising from the depths of the well on several occasions. Perhaps that is why the well has now been covered over...

The Oak Tree

An oak tree in the village has been associated for many years as a place where elves and fairies liked to meet.

The Tumulus

Newcastle has an early Norman motte and bailey castle site, hence the name. It is situated close to the present day England/Wales border. The area is said to be haunted by the ghosts of those who committed evil deeds there in times gone by.

The Well

The well in the village once enjoyed a reputation for healing and protection.
