The Llindir Inn

The Llindir Inn

The Llindir Inn (pictured above) is one of the oldest in Wales. The ghost of Sylvia, who originates from around the 1700’s, allegedly haunts this 13th century pub. Sylvia was the wife of a sailor, and was not faithful whilst he was at sea, instead she would play around with many of the young men in the village. However, one stormy night her husband unexpectedly returned and found his wife in the arms of another man. In a torrent of rage, he stabbed the young man and strangled Sylvia. Sylvia has been reported dressed in a long blue gown, and it is said that if a young man is to stay alone at the pub she will get into the bed with him!
