A ghost train was reported prior to 1911. However, the witness only heard the train at around midnight. He knew that there was no train scheduled to pass through Nantgaredig at that time. His enquiries with the stationmaster the following morning confirmed that no train arrived that night. It later transpired that this might have been another example of the Tolaeth, as a large funeral party arrived on a special train a few days later.
