Kenfig Burrows

The Sker House

This wonderful house had a terrifying reputation, and for good reason. It was said to be the haunt of the ghost of a maiden and the sounds of clanking chains. Legend stated that the young woman had been incarcerated in one of the rooms, and this resulted in the misty form seen one of the upper windows.

In 2002, a BBC camera crew was prevented from filming there by a high-pitched noise emanating in the great Hall, yet its source was undetected. A medium in their company told them that they had “disturbed something evil”. As result, they vacated the ruined house sharply.

It is now a private property.
