According to Coxe, the area known as the Three Cross Roads is haunted by a female phantom. Local lore states that the daughter of the house, which belonged to the Craik family, fell in love with a local man named Dunn. However, he is said to have committed suicide, but locals believed he was murdered by one of the family who disapproved of the relationship. Consequently, she left the family home and was never seen again... except in phantom form.
