The Globe Inn

The Globe Inn is supposedly haunted by soldier was executed at Ludlow Castle in 1553. According to Coze, the ghost is named "Joe".

Ludlow Castle

The Castle (pictured left courtesy of Giano II) was a Norman Fortress and extended over the centuries to become a fortified Royal Palace, passing through generations of the de Lacy and Mortimer families to Richard Plantagenet, Duke of York. The castle was abandoned in 1689 the castle quickly fell into ruin, but since 1811 the castle has been owned by the Earls of Powis who have prevented its decline.

 

The castle is reputedly haunted by the 12th century Marion de Bruyere, who walks the Hanging Tower. The sound of laboured breathing has also been heard in the vacinity.

The Rectory and Churchyard are reputed to be haunted by a grey-haired woman wearing a dressing gown.

It lies 28 miles south of Shrewsbury and 23 miles north of Hereford.
