Gunby Hall (pictured above) is a listed Grade II* country house, dating from the early 1700's. It was given to the National Trust in 1944 by the trustees of the Gunby Hall Estate together with its contents and approximately 1,500 acres of land.
The gardens have an area known as the Ghost Walk, for it is said to be frequented by two lovers. They were allegedly shot dead by the girl's father, although whether there is any basis in truth has not been confirmed. However, a phantom female is said to float over the pond and her lover walks the path beside it.
