St. Peter's Church

St. Peter's Church

The grave of one Lady Anne Grimston in St. Peter’s Churchyard (pictured above) proves to be quite unusual. In life, this woman denied the existence of the Resurrection, and indeed God. As she lay dying, she was claimed to have said, “If there is any truth in the Word of God, may seven trees grow from my grave”. Today, you can see a substantial tree that has grown right through her grave!
