Built in 1937, the Century Cinema was located on Station Road (today Station Way) on the north corner of Kingsway Road, in the centre of Cheam. It ran until 1960, when it finally closed down. The main auditorium was not demolished for another thirty years, when the site was redeveloped. A workman allegedly haunted the old cinema, having disappeared during its construction in suspicious circumstances. Does his ghost still wander the new development?

Nonsuch Park is a public park between Stoneleigh, North Cheam, Cheam, and Ewell on the boundaries of the borough of Epsom and Ewell in Surrey, England and the London Borough of Sutton. The park contains Nonsuch Mansion, also known as Nonsuch Park House.
It is the last surviving part of the Little Park of Nonsuch, a deer-hunting park established by Henry VIII surrounding the former Nonsuch Palace.
The western regions of the larger adjacent Great Park of Nonsuch became known as Worcester Park after the 4th Earl of Worcester was appointed Keeper of the Great Park in 1606.
Witnesses have reported a phantom lurking hear the main south entrance to the park. The figure has been described as being a tall male with “a thin face”, and dressed in “dark coloured hat and long black overcoat”. Matthews recounts a possible backstory for the spectre, although this maybe speculative.
