Beeleigh Abbey

Beeleigh Abbey

Beeleigh Abbey was a monastery constructed in 1180 for the White Canons, otherwise known as the Norbertines or Premonstratensians. It is said to be haunted by the headless apparition of Sir John Gates, who was beheaded for his support of Lady Jane Grey.
