Woolbridge Manor

Woolbridge Manor

The Turberville family, who also owned the manor at Bere Regis, 5 miles north of Wool, once owned Woolbridge Manor (pictured above). A ghostly carriage and four runs between the two houses, but those who have Turberville blood can only witness it. Legend has it that a tunnel runs under the river from the Manor to Bindon Abbey. According to JA Brooks, the most likely time for it to be observed is on Christmas Eve.
